Every morning, while walking through my garden, I often notice the little visitors who have quietly become part of my daily routine. At first glance, I sometimes mistake the quick movement of a blue male sunbird for a butterfly as it moves rapidly from flower to flower, sipping nectar. Soon I notice his partner nearby, and I often see the two of them together, always busy and seemingly in a hurry.

I see them most often in the morning, among the blooming hibiscus and other flowers in my backyard. When I go into the garden to collect flowers for my daily puja, the bees and ants are never far behind. A tiny bite or sting while picking flowers has become an almost familiar part of my routine.

This painting grew from these simple, everyday encounters. I wanted to capture not just the sunbird couple, but the lively little world that surrounds them—the hibiscus flowers, bees, ants, leaves, and vibrant greenery that I see so often. Through expressive brushwork and rich turquoise, green, orange, blue, and yellow tones, I have tried to preserve the feeling of those busy, beautiful mornings in my backyard, where nature quietly becomes a part of everyday life.
