Faces are fascinating. They contain the gateways through which we experience the world—eyes that see, ears that hear, a nose that senses fragrance, skin that feels, and a mouth through which we communicate and enjoy life's experiences.

Yet we often identify ourselves entirely with our face, our appearance, our personality, and the stories we tell about ourselves. We judge ourselves and others through these limited identities. My fascination with creating abstract faces comes from exploring a different perspective. Through abstraction, I invite viewers to look beyond labels and identities, and to consider that we are more than our physical appearance, more than our bodies, and more than our thoughts.

Face 09 is an abstract portrait created through an intuitive and spontaneous process. The artwork begins with geometric forms drawn freely in pencil. As the composition develops and finds its own balance, facial elements such as the eyes, nose, and mouth emerge naturally from within the structure.

Bright, playful colours are used to create a sense of joy, curiosity, and lightness. The result is a fusion of geometry, abstraction, and portraiture that celebrates both individuality and the deeper essence that exists beyond identity.
